Why Am I Running?

I believe in a different type of democracy, a direct democracy. Right now, you only have a say in provincial politics once every four years. With one vote, you are forced to pick a candidate, a party and a leader. In the past, I have found that after the election, I had no say in how my local MPP would vote on issues in the Legislative Assembly. MPPs are more interested in sticking to the party line than listening to the people they represent.

I offer you a different option, the option to have your voice heard, not just at the polls, but also on every issue that I vote on as your local representative. I vow to respect the majority vote of the constituents in the Ottawa West-Nepean on a policy-by policy-basis. My sole policy mandate is to campaign for the 3Rs of direct democracy – Referendum, Recall and Real electoral and legislative Reforms that give voters control of politicians and parties.

I am running as a NOTA candidate to give the constituents in the Ottawa West-Nepean an option to have their voice heard not just on June 7, 2018, but for the next four years as well.
